How VitaDog Daily fits into your dog's routine
VitaDog Daily All-In-One is one daily routine: powder + oil + water in a shaker, poured over food. The same shake covers joints, gut, skin, coat, immune support, and a multi-vitamin foundation. You stop juggling four bottles. The format choice (powder + dosed oil) is what lets us deliver clinical doses of glucosamine, MSM, EPA + DHA, multi-strain probiotic, turmeric, vitamin E, zinc and quercetin without forcing you to count out chews or break capsules.
Dose tiers in detail
Three tiers, sized to body weight. The same formula scales across all three; the only thing that changes is the daily scoop count and the oil dose.
Small · under 20 lb (under 9 kg)
- 1 scoop of VitaDog Daily Powder
- ½ dropper of Custom Blend Oil
- 1.5 oz water in the shaker
- Once per day, during or after mealtime
Medium · 21 to 75 lb (9.5 to 34 kg)
- 2 scoops of VitaDog Daily Powder
- 1 dropper of Custom Blend Oil
- 3 oz water in the shaker
- Once per day, during or after mealtime
Large · over 75 lb (over 34 kg)
- 3 scoops of VitaDog Daily Powder
- 1.5 droppers of Custom Blend Oil
- 4 oz water in the shaker
- Once per day, during or after mealtime
Dog at the boundary? If your dog sits at the weight border between two tiers (e.g., a 22 lb terrier or an 80 lb retriever), choose the heavier tier. Subclinical underdosing is the most common reason owners don't see results in the first 8-12 weeks.
The first two weeks · transition cadence
Most dogs accept VitaDog from day one. For dogs with sensitive stomachs or dogs that are notoriously picky, ramp up over 7-14 days:
- Days 1-3: half the recommended scoop count, full oil dose. Mix into wet food or a bit of bone broth.
- Days 4-7: three-quarter scoop count, full oil dose. Continue mixing into food.
- Day 8 onwards: full daily dose for your tier.
About 1 in 10 dogs experiences mild stool change in the first 7-14 days as the gut microbiome shifts. This is normal and resolves. If diarrhea is severe or persists past 72 hours, pause and check in with your vet.
Picky eater playbook
The peanut-butter-flavored powder is engineered for palatability, but a small fraction of dogs are skeptical of any supplement. Things that work:
- Mix into wet food or kibble already coated in a bit of warm water
- Add a tablespoon of low-sodium bone broth to the shaker for extra appeal
- Top a frozen lick mat with the mixed shake (slow-release engagement)
- For the most resistant dogs, syringe-feed the oil portion directly and dust the powder onto food separately
Avoid mixing into hot food (above 110°F / 43°C); the heat degrades the live probiotic strains.
Storage and shelf life
- Powder: store sealed in the original container, room temperature, away from direct sunlight. The desiccant included in the lid keeps moisture out; do not remove it.
- Oil: refrigerate after opening. The omega-3 fatty acids oxidize in heat and light. Refrigerate after opening to preserve the omega-3 fatty acids.
Common questions
Can I split the daily dose into two meals?
Yes, especially for dogs with sensitive stomachs or for the Large tier (3 scoops can feel like a lot at one meal). Half the powder + half the oil at breakfast, half at dinner. Probiotic CFU and active dosing are unaffected by split feeding.
What if my dog skips a day?
No need to double up the next day. The actives work via cumulative tissue saturation, not acute spike-and-clear pharmacology. A missed day is genuinely fine; just resume the normal dose the following day.
Can I give VitaDog with my dog's regular medication?
Yes for most cases. The most commonly co-prescribed are NSAIDs (carprofen, meloxicam), anti-itch medications (Apoquel, Cytopoint), thyroid medications, and antibiotics. For dogs on chronic medication, mention your supplement routine to your vet at the next visit so they have full visibility into your dog's daily regimen.
How long until I see results?
Coat shine and softer texture often appear at 3-4 weeks. Joint mobility and itch reduction typically reach plateau at 8-12 weeks. Probiotic effects on stool quality often show within the first 14 days. Don't judge a supplement on 1-2 weeks; give it the full 8-12 week window before deciding.
What if my dog is already on Cosequin or a similar joint supplement?
You can transition. VitaDog covers joints (glucosamine HCl 600mg per scoop, MSM, chondroitin, turmeric paired with piperine, plus EPA + DHA in the dropped oil) plus the rest of the multi-system formula, so most owners stop the standalone joint supplement after starting VitaDog. If you want to overlap for the first 30 days during transition, that's also fine; the actives are not contraindicated.
Does VitaDog replace my dog's multi-vitamin?
For most dogs eating a complete-and-balanced commercial diet, yes. VitaDog includes vitamin E, zinc, biotin and other co-factors at amounts that typically replace a separate multi-vitamin. For dogs on home-cooked or raw diets, talk to your vet about whether additional supplementation is needed.
