Module 08 · The practical guide

Using VitaDog day to day

The nuts and bolts owners always ask about: how to serve it, what a dose is, and how long it lasts. Keep this one handy - it answers most "how does it actually work?" questions in a sentence.

What a dose is

One serving a day, matched to your dog's weight:

Dog weightPowderWaterOil
Up to 20 lbs1 scoop (10g)1.5 fl oz0.5 ml
21-75 lbs2 scoops (20g)3 fl oz1 ml
Over 75 lbs3 scoops (30g)4.5 fl oz1.5 ml

One scoop = 10g. One dropper = 1 ml. Give once per day, during or after mealtime. Water is only needed if you're shaking.

How to serve it - shake or scoop

Two equally good ways to serve it, same dose either way. Pick whatever suits your dog and your morning.

Shake it

Add the water, powder and oil to the shaker, shake, and pour over their food. Mixes into a smooth topper that coats every piece - ideal for kibble and picky eaters.

Water + powder + oil, shake, serve

Scoop it

Skip the water entirely - scoop the powder straight over their food and add the oil drops on top. No mixing, nothing to rinse out.

Powder + oil, straight onto food

Either way it's once a day, during or just after their meal - about ten seconds. There's a how-to video at vitadognutrition.com/pages/how-to.

How long it lasts

Because dosing is by weight, a pouch stretches further for smaller dogs. A 600g pouch holds 60 ten-gram scoops, which works out to roughly:

  • Small dog (up to 20 lbs): about 2 months per pouch - 1 scoop a day.
  • Medium dog (21-75 lbs): about 1 month per pouch - 2 scoops a day.
  • Large dog (over 75 lbs): about 3 weeks per pouch - 3 scoops a day.

Getting started, storage & safety

  • Ease in: start with a partial serving for the first few days and build to the full amount, so the gut settles into the new fibre and probiotics.
  • Give with food: serving during or just after a meal aids absorption and avoids tummy upset.
  • Fresh each time: once mixed with water, serve it straight away rather than letting it sit.
  • Store cool and dry, out of reach of children and pets.

Quick safety note

The peanut butter version contains peanut - for dogs with a peanut allergy, choose the peanut-free beef version instead. For dogs only, not for human consumption. Safe use in pregnant or breeding dogs hasn't been established, and dogs with a health condition or on medication should be checked by a vet first. As a food supplement it supports normal functions of the body and isn't intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.
